Two clicks to help me!
Have you ever paused halfway through one of my pieces and thought, this is good, but it’s a bit longer than I expected? I’ve been thinking about that. I know First Edition can run on the long side. That’s intentional. I tend to take an idea and hold it close, turn it over, pull the prophetic thread, bring the gospel into focus, and then end with a clear challenge. It’s how I try to serve you. Still, here’s the thing. Your time matters. I don’t want to waste a second of it, unless I am at your dinner table with a half empty glass…
What this really means is I’m taking a hard look at how and what I write. I want to make sure the writing lands, that it helps, that it brings clarity and courage into the places where you need it most. And yes, I’m aware of the reality – beyond a few friends who cheer me on, I’m not widely known. So when someone takes a step and shares a piece with someone else, I notice that. It means more than you might think. Spreading the love keeps this little corner of the internet in Sheffield alive.
Let’s break it down. I’m trying to figure out whether these long-form posts are serving you well or whether you’d prefer something shorter. Maybe weekly is right. Maybe fortnightly. Maybe you want a rhythm that fits your own pace. I can’t promise I’ll hit every preference, but hearing from you will shape the path ahead. Maybe you want to unsubscribe, that’s okay – I said so in the introduction email!
So here’s the ask. Would you click on the two polls below? It won’t take long. It will give me a clearer sense of whether I should keep writing at the current pace or give the computer a rest and show up once a week for the faithful few.
Thanks for helping me in this. Your opinion matters!
