The reset button has been hit!
I just wanted to say Happy New Year to you.
There. Mission accomplished.
Now seriously. If you’re reading this, you’re one of the valued readers who subscribed to First Edition. There are somewhere between one and two thousand subscribers on the site, and you’re one of them. If you didn’t skim that sentence too fast, you’ll have caught the play on words.
Here’s the thing. I’d like to ask something slightly out of the ordinary. Would you consider inviting a few people from your church to the site this year? My aim is simple. To encourage, challenge, and steady as many hearts as possible in the months ahead.
There are now over 300 posts. There really is something for everyone. And in a move that still surprises people, everything on the site is free. No paywalls. No locked doors. That alone makes it easy to invite others in. And if it turns out not to be their cup of tea, they can unsubscribe on day one with no awkwardness and no guilt.
I’m glad you’re here as I write into 2026 like a man who’s running out of time. As always, with a little emotion, a bit of dramatic sighing, and a mildly quizzical frown, I’ll remind you that if you ever want to unsubscribe, the link is there. I promise I won’t be offended.
Have a brilliant New Year. May God encourage your heart, steady your fears, and raise extraordinary faith, courage, and hope for the year ahead. You have much to do, and enough time to do it.
With a degree of affection,
~ Jon
