Amos said it first!
Amos 5:24 is the most noted verse from Amos, quoted by Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. in his Letter from a Birmingham Jail on April 16, 1963, and I Have A Dream speech from the Washington Mall on August 28, 1963: “But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.”
It is such a good quote, and nowhere does Martin Luther King or his followers, quote the true source of such wisdom and advice, so much so that most people think Luther King penned it himself. Awkward.
“But let justice roll down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” – Amos (c. 760-755 BC)
